Buion Muire Lourdes Wicklow (CGI) is a Company of Cygnets, Brigini, Guides and Rangers based in Wicklow Town. Our meetings are held in De La Salle Pastoral Centre on Tuesday evenings: 5.30pm for Cygnets; 6.30pm for Brigini and 6.30pm Guides & Rangers
We welcome all girls, from all denominations and backgrounds.
We are a long-term Guiding group in the town with our origins dating back to the 1960’s and are now proud to have some grand daughters of the early members and also their daughters during that time. This is a wonderful testimony to who we are and what we do.
Cygnets are our youngest members and must be school going, Brigini are 6/7 years up to 9/10 years and Guides are 9/10 years and upwards with Rangers starting at 14 years.
We provide a full and varied programme of weekly events with a wide mix or art & crafts, games, camp-fires, badge-work, movie nights, party’s, trips, overnight camps for Guides and Rangers, along with community visits and visitors. The Catholic Guides of Ireland (CGI) is a nationwide uniformed Association open to all women and girls. CGI is a registered Charity and has members both in the Republic and Northern Ireland. The Mission Statement of CGI is to “provide a challenging Guiding programme within a safe environment, to enable all girls and young women to develop their full potential”.
