Wicklow Male Voice Choir practices in the De La sale Pastoral Centre every Tuesday at 8pm from the beginning of September until the end of May. New members are welcome and can contact the choir by email at info@wicklowmvc.net. Alternatively prospective members can just turn up on any Tuesday evening at 7.50pm and have a look and listen.
This choir was founded in February 1998 and has grown in numbers and stature ever since. It is currently under the musical direction of Anthony Norton who, in turn, taken direction from a democratically elected committee. This committee is currently headed up by Chairman Andy Bolger. Every member pays €5 per rehearsal and an annual membership fee of €50.
The choir’s flagship event is its Christmas Concert and the choir is very grateful for the loyal patronage of so many music lovers who always come to this event in great numbers. We also perform elsewhere both at home and abroad. The choir maintains links with charities and has done a lot of work in conjunction with the local Lions Club, Cancer Support, St Vincent De Paul and St Catherine’s School.
The choir is a highly regarded national and international organisation and has won 1st prize in many international competitions.
Choir members are very appreciative for the support of Fr Donal Roche and the staff of the Pastoral Centre and really enjoy the centre as a venue for rehearsal.
